A wonderful Bob 'Wrenman' Hunter fruit bowl. The signature wren has been expertly carved onto a mushroom which sits in the centre of the bowl. It has been so well carved. The detail on the wren is superb and the colour of the oak is beautiful. It is in excellent condition with no damage. The signature wren is perfect, quite often the beaks and tails get knocked off on these Wrenman pieces, but not with this piece. It's a gorgeous bowl.
 
Bob 'Wrenman' Hunter was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop and adopted the little wren as his signature after watching a pair of wrens building a nest in the workshop. His pieces are always exceptionally well carved so are very highly sought after.
