A vintage Peter 'Rabbitman' Heap ashtray. These little ashtrays are always very highly sought after when they come to the market, especially since the death of Peter Heap in 2022. Prices of his pieces began to rise after his death and his work became very collectable. The ashtray is in excellent condition with no damage and the signature rabbit has been particularly well carved in high relief and sits on top. A really lovely little piece that displays very well. 
 
Peter Heap was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He set up his own workshop in 1970 and adopted the rabbit as his signature.
