A pair of 1930s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson bookends, hand carved from oak with a signature mouse to each bookend. Both have been beautifully tooled, which really captures the light. They have castellated tops and superb patina. They are in very good condition with no damage. Very rare to the market, these early bookends are always highly sought after, especially those that have the tails of each mouse that when put together meet to make a heart shape, The mice have been particularly well carved and are a mirror image of each other, again quite rare.
