A superb 1960s/70s Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson shallow nut bowl, hand carved from oak. These little nut bowls are so rare, they hardly ever come to the market. When they do, they are always highly sought after. Instead of the mouse being carved on the edge of the bowl, it has been carved into the centre of the well, looking almost like a miniature sized version of a Mouseman fruit bowl. I've included a picture of the nut bowl next to a Mouseman fruit bowl to compare the two. Please note, the fruit bowl is not included, but it is for sale - please see my other items if you are interested in that. 
 
The condition is excellent with no damage. These earlier made nut bowls were not adzed around the outer edge like the later nut bowls. The diameter measures just 15.2 cm, the height 3.5 cm. A really sweet little Mouseman nut bowl.
