A rare Colin 'Beaverman' Almack clock with a Yorkshire Rose carved onto the clock face. The signature beaver is on the edge. It is superbly carved and in excellent condition with no damage, just a bit of wear to the gold plating on the numerals. It has a brand new quartz movement, so the clock is in full working order and keeps really good time. The diameter measures 18.8 cm. A lot of work has gone into this piece, especially to the carving of the Yorkshire Rose. Quite a rare thing, I've never seen another one, so probably a commissioned piece.
Colin 'Beaverman' Almack was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. He worked for Thompson during the 1940s and 1950s. He set up his own workshop in 1960 and adopted the beaver as his signature.
