A rare 1950s dark oak Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson magazine rack, hand carved from oak with the signature mouse running along the top of the handle. The condition is excellent, there is a light scratch on one of the panels, other than that it just has age related wear from use. It's quite a large, heavy piece measuring 46 cm high, the width is 33 cm, and the depth 27 cm. I've only seen one other early example like this sell at auction and the hammer price was £1200, including the auction house premium, that equates to a total price of £1560. That was in a specialist auction in 2017. Prices have risen quite significantly since then, so I think I've priced this one quite well. A highly sought after, rare, early Mouseman piece.
