A sweet Trevor 'Squirrelman' Hutchinson hand carved wine table. Trevor Hutchinson is the son of Wilf Hutchinson, who was one of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson's craftsmen. Wilf set up his own workshop in 1957 and adopted the squirrel as his signature. He passed his skills onto Trevor, who carried on the business after his father's death. The table is beautifully carved and bears the signature squirrel eating a nut to the base. I've never seen another Squirrelman wine table, so this is possibly a custom-made or one-off piece. It is in excellent condition with just a few very faint scratches to the table top, which can only be seen in good light on close inspection. There is also one small nick to the base, otherwise it is excellent. The signature squirrel is perfect, with no damage, and particularly well carved. A great little Squirrelman table which is still very useful, not only as a wine table, but also a small side table. It is signed 'TH' to the base for Trevor Hutchinson.
