A really lovely vintage Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson oak trinket box, hand carved with the signature mouse to the lid. It is a wonderful dark honey colour and it has been beautifully tooled and adzed, not only to the exterior, but to the interior too, which is good to see as the later trinket boxes aren't hand carved inside, they are machine cut and left plain.
 
It measures 19 cm x 11.2 cm x 8.3 cm. The condition is very good with just slight wear from age and use. One corner is not so sharp as the other three, and wear to the edges can be felt when you run your finger over them, not noticeable to the eye, but should be pointed out. All in line with age and use. The lid fits well and is obviously original to the piece. A well carved Mouseman trinket box.
